Christian Horner Reportedly Contacting Various Grand Prix Team Bosses
Ex-Red Bull chief Christian Horner is reportedly "ringing up pretty much every team owner" as he attempts a re-entry to F1, according to Aston Martin F1 chief executive officer Andy Cowell.
The Silverstone-based squad is included in the squads that are connected to Horner.
The team executive stated he had verified the developments with team principal Lawrence Stroll on Friday at the Singapore GP.
"It looks as though Christian is ringing up pretty much every team owner at the moment," said Cowell.
"I can definitively state there are no plans for the participation of Christian in an management or financial position in the future."
Other Teams Respond
The US-based squad team principal Ayao Komatsu revealed that Horner had "contacted" the Stateside organization but added: "Things haven't advanced. The matter is closed."
The Renault-owned team executive director Steve Nielsen mentioned the team's executive adviser and acting leader Flavio Briatore was "long-standing acquaintances" with Horner.
Nielsen added: "I have no knowledge what they discuss. Everything I know is there are no arrangements for Christian to join Alpine but this doesn't imply it won't happen."
The historic British team team principal James Vowles confirmed that the former Red Bull leader had not reached out to them.
"We're very happy with the setup we have and it's effective," Vowles said. "There's no cause to alter this."
Background Context
The ex-Red Bull chief is free to return grand prix racing by the second half of the coming year after concluding a departure deal with the energy drink company on the 22nd of September.
The 51-year-old was let go as Red Bull team principal after the British GP in July.
Several informants at Red Bull have revealed the financial arrangement was estimated at 60m euros (£52m).
